Festival 2008 23rd-27th May - Be there or be... sad!

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Good afternoon,

I hope you have had a good week so far and that you have learnt to accept people around you for you they are......( and also accept Jan Leeming...although she seems like she is changing daily for the better)

Well, it is all work over here, but Christmas is almost here! Praise God!
I have already put up some lights on my windows and will be decorating the Christmas tree this weekend.

Tonight we are going to have a Christmas Baazar at college. I wasn't planning to go there...(opting for cinema instead), but somehow I am now officially 'Santa's little helper'.....Help!!!!!!!

I hope it will be fun, but will report once it is over.

I blame one of the other evangelists for what is happening.....and she is in so much trouble!

Joking apart though, it is a very special time of the year as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Sometimes we get too focused on presents and forget the greatest present of all times.

I am preparing a sermon for Sunday and I am thinking of hope, the hope that we find in Jesus because he came on this earth for us....and the hope of living everyday to the full with Christ, in a way that pleases him.

So, any of you out there doing something strange and wild during this season?

We usually have a Christmas Cabaret and we are thinking of maybe playing some of the characters of Little Britain (if we have time to prepare).....ssshhhh...we don't want the students to know, hahaha

May God's hope and peace be with you all this Christmas season!

Little Britain - just trying to imagine which characters you would all be most likely to play...

Vicky Pollard? Or perhaps you could be ladies!!!

Make sure you let us know what you decide to do...

I choose my right to anonymity on this post, but you'll probably guess who it is anyway...

HEY THANKS!

IT IS GREAT TO HEAR THAT YOU REALLY ENJOY BEING AT THE FESTIVAL

WE ENJOY IT TOO, YEAH, EVEN THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS

TWO YEARS AGO THE CHILL-OUT TENT WAS MY FAVOURITE SPOT BUT NOW I AM NOT QUITE SURE WHETHER I LIKE THE LATE NIGHT EXTRA MORE OR WHETHER I STILL LOVE THE CHILL-OUT TENT.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FESTIVAL SPOT?

i like the chill out tent and LNE but our group usually go out for late night walks aswell which are well cool just we have to be really quiet as we dont get back til bout 1 or after, dont remember 1 year when we have slept at all during festival out of the 5 years we have been going!

oh yeah! the night walks and sleepless nights are brilliant. the only problem is that after the festival we just crash for a week and can't do very much because of lack of sleep. but it is still exciting to stay up all night chatting and eating.i think the chillout tent should be open all night. what do you say?

Yeah that would be cool if the chill out tent was open all night, it would be fab!
Yeah i know what you mean about the lack of sleep on the 3-4 hour bus ride home our group sleep all the way back! then we dont see each other for few days and things cos we try to catch up on lost sleep but its all worth the while!

Well, well...Grace is the one suggesting that the chill out tent should be open all night....I think that we should propose that she should be the one to look after it for the night....Anybody agrees with my proposal?

Yeah! i agree, but it would be kinda cool though doing all nighters because most people do those anyway during festival so why not have somewhere to hang out where u dont have to be super quiet! And also a Pajama party would be cool aswell!

I think that the evangelist with the long dark hair who is usually in the chillout tent should organise 'all-nighters' in the chillout tent with food etc. what do you think?
Maybe a special girlie session as well????
Boys can have a special session too...
Yeah, give us some ideas and we'll see what we can do.

I'm the husband of the girl with long dark hair who usualy looks after the chillout tent. I hate to be a spoil sport but I would like to see my wife at some time during the festival. So, I'm not up for this all night thing as I only get the opportunity to see her for about an hour before we go to bed and I will miss her. So if this is to happen i think some of the other Youth Team should stay up all night.

Hey, it's the girl with long dark hair here....I just read my husband's comments....Oh, it is so sweet of him, isn't it? He is the best husband in the wolrd! I think that during the festival you should go up to him and embarrass him about this though, hehehehe...Well, now it makes even more for Grace to look after the chill out tent at night...after all, it was her suggestion and she likes late nights...hehehe....have a fab day today and God bless....

yes, late nights are cool especially at Festival time.the chill-out tent is a great place to hangout at the end of the day. what do you like most about the chill-out tent? i think the tuck shop is my favourite - i just eat sweets all night and hope i don't get a bad tum later.

Dear Husband of 'the girl with long dark hair',
since the chill-out tent is so so so popular and your wonderful wife is usually in charge of it, would you mind being partners with her in the chill-out tent 'department'? it means that you get to see her for more than just an hour before you go to bed and you won't miss her too much. maybe you can join her for part of the night and then someone else will take over from her...it does not have to be all night...what do you say?

lol!!! this guys mad, he says he wants 2 see her blah blah blah, well go see her then lol its only at the chillout tent, go stay with her, sacrifices have 2 be made mate to keep the kids happy, its only a week and im sure u can deal with it, i think you should you voice your concerns to her and directly to thje youth team and not on here as its not the most appropriate place to discuss your wifes work is it now???! youve got a point but voice it properly , if u cant handle it im sure someone else can and they'l take the role as leader, play a part and you'l feel better and you'l see her, if u cant handle it then withdraw completely because if your not 100%behind it then it'l be crap, commitment son , commitment

the person that wrote the last comment...i have got a feeling I might know you...can you make yourself known please, hehehe?

anyway, the conversations about all nighters were a bit of a laugh...and we enjoyed communicating via the blog, especially within our evangelist office...after all laughter is good for the soul...

I hope you have all had a brill time over Christmas and New Year...
